Climate campaign at Co-op America

In case you haven’t seen it before, check out the campaign Co-op America has underway to pressure some of the big mutual fund families to support climate change resolutions. Co-op America is a really good organization that’s been involved in shareholder activism for a long time. This campaign is kind of buried on their site, but it’s a nice tool for people who want to send a direct message.

They also have a useful list of what you can do to make a difference as a shareholder. We’re focusing on helping investors with #1, “Vote your proxies,” and #3, “Hold mutual funds accountable for their voting practices.” In both cases it has required a pretty heroic effort for investors to really find out enough to get involved, and PD is trying to make it a lot easier.
